Whispers of faith echoed through Mussafah’s industrial landscape. They heralded the arrival of St Paul’s Church. This sanctuary, a beacon of hope, opened its doors on June 12, 2015. St Paul’s Church stands as the second Catholic church in Abu Dhabi. The first, St. Joseph Cathedral, was built in 1965. The journey of St Paul’s Church began in November 2011. The municipality granted land in Mussafah’s industrial heart after 18 months of discussions. That same year, the foundation stone was laid, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the Catholic community. The inauguration of St Paul’s Church was a momentous occasion. Dignitaries and religious leaders gathered to witness the blessing. Shaikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan represented the local authorities. Cardinal Pietro Parolin, a prominent figure in the Catholic Church, graced the event. The church has a capacity of 1,200 people. It provides a spacious and welcoming environment for worship and community gatherings. St Paul’s Church serves as a testament to the growing presence of the Catholic faith in Abu Dhabi. It offers a spiritual home to the diverse community in Mussafah.
