Founded in 1917 Fukuoka Prefecture Fukoka Central Higher School stands proudly. Its history is rich. It began as Fukuoka Prefectural Chikushi Practical Girls’ School. The school’s name changed many times. It became Fukuoka Prefectural Chikushi Girls’ High School. Later it was renamed Fukuoka Prefectural Chikushi High School for Girls. Eventually it became Fukuoka Prefectural Chikushi Girls’ Higher School. Finally in 1949 it adopted its current name Fukuoka Prefectural Chikushi Central Higher School.
The school’s curriculum evolved too. Initially it offered a full-day system. Later a part-time system was added. Today students can choose between general subjects or mathematics.
