Didn’t expect that the Church of God in Denver started so far away. It all began with dedicated followers of Christ. These believers lived in western Michigan in 1858. They emphasized the second coming of Christ.

Joined by a church in Marion Iowa in 1863, the movement grew. The Church of God’s influence expanded eastward and into the central United States. A key factor was “The Hope of Israel”. This publication spread the Church’s unique doctrines. These included the Bible’s sole authority and the seventh-day Sabbath.

Formally, the General Conference of the Church of God was organized in 1884. It incorporated in Missouri in 1899. Initially, its offices were in Stanberry Missouri. But in 1950, a significant change occurred. The offices moved to Denver Colorado. Today, we can visit it right here.
