Welcome to Huangtaizi, also known as \u9ad8\u697c\u957f\u57ce\u9a6c\u9762 9 \u53f7 / \u9ec4\u53f0\u5b50\u9a6c\u9762. It is a strategic section of the Great Wall northwest of Beijing.
Huangtaizi offers both challenge and reward to those who venture here. The wall’s condition varies. Some parts are well-preserved brick. Other parts transition to rugged stone.
Huangtaizi’s location is key. It sits about 55 kilometers northwest of Beijing. It’s also about 3.7 kilometers south of Chenjiabao. Dayingpan is about 10.3 kilometers to the east.
The Great Wall path from Chenjiabao to Huangtaizi spans roughly 6.5 kilometers. From Huangtaizi to Dayingpan the path extends about 16.3 kilometers.
Hiking this section offers stunning views. As you walk, you’ll notice the wall’s changing direction. Near a large tower, it makes a sharp turn. An older Ming Dynasty wall leads northwest from there.
Huangtaizi once marked a border shift. Here, the wall leaves Beijing Municipality. It enters Hebei Province. The division changes from Yanqing County to Changping District.
West of Huanglouyuan, the wall climbs higher. It reaches over 1400 meters. This provides even better views. A tower marks the mountain’s peak where the wall turns north.
Beyond the high tower, the path becomes more difficult. Steep cliffs require serious commitment. The wall stretches another 1.6 kilometers to the Huailai County TV tower. It sits at Wangleng village near Laohutoushan.
