Have you ever imagined studying in a tent? Right here at Test-Zelt Campus Süd, that’s exactly what TU Dortmund students do. Test-Zelt Campus Süd isn’t your average campsite. These aren’t tents for a weekend getaway. These are specially designed learning spaces, erected to address the shortage of study areas caused by the pandemic. Imagine five large, heated, and mechanically ventilated tents appearing on campus. Each Test-Zelt offers approximately 300 square meters of study space, available Monday to Friday. They are open from 8 am to 8 pm. Students can bridge the gaps between in-person classes, participate in online seminars, or simply find a quiet spot to focus. Test-Zelt Campus Süd, located south of the Rudolf-Chaudoire-Pavillon, offers a unique study environment. The tents boast large glass exterior walls and air-cushion roofs. They are equipped with reliable Wi-Fi and even snack vending machines for those long study sessions. Accessibility is ensured with ramps and non-slip artificial turf. Students are responsible for cleaning their own study spaces. Test-Zelt Campus Süd showcases TU Dortmund’s innovative approach to providing study spaces during challenging times.
