Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation

From a humble IT institute to a leading tech university, the Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) has quite a story. We’re standing at the heart of it all, on APU’s vibrant campus. APU began in 1993 as the Asia Pacific Institute of Information Technology (APIIT). It was part of a government initiative to boost the number of IT professionals in Malaysia. Starting in Damansara Heights, Kuala Lumpur, APIIT initially offered diploma courses. A partnership with Monash University in 1995 opened doors to bachelor’s degrees. Later, a collaboration with Staffordshire University in the UK further broadened the academic horizons. APU expanded rapidly, opening campuses across Asia and Australia. The Malaysian campus moved to Technology Park Malaysia in 2003. A more recent move in 2017 brought us to the current, modern location on Jalan Teknologi 5. The university became a recognized SUN and Microsoft training center. It also partnered with SAP. The Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation continued to evolve. It gained university college status in 2004, becoming the Asia Pacific University College of Technology & Innovation (UCTI). Finally, it achieved full university status and adopted the name we know today: Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation. Over 40,000 graduates have emerged from this institution. APU stands as a testament to Malaysia’s forward-thinking vision in technology and innovation. It continues to nurture professionals, contributing to a globalized world.
