Did First United Pentecostal Church always stand on this site? No. Its journey began modestly in 1952, within the walls of Bro. Joseph Twilley’s home. But the congregation’s faith was far from modest, and it blossomed quickly. In 1953, the First United Pentecostal Church found its first dedicated space on Carolina Street. That spirit of growth continued to drive them. Fast forward to 1973, and you see the culmination of vision and dedication. This very structure, the heart of First United Pentecostal Church San Antonio, was erected thanks to the tireless efforts of Bro. and Sis. Lawrence King. They poured their hearts, and countless batches of peanut brittle, into raising funds for this new house of worship. Today, First United Pentecostal Church San Antonio stands as a testament to their unwavering belief and commitment. Its sanctuary welcomes approximately 650 souls, with additional space dedicated to Sunday school classes and a welcoming Fellowship Hall. This hall, in fact, serves as a temporary home for their Spanish daughter work, showcasing the church’s dedication to inclusivity and growth. And speaking of growth, First United Pentecostal Church San Antonio has exciting plans for the future, with dreams of a new Youth Center and recreational facilities. It’s a church that embraces its past, thrives in the present, and looks forward to a future filled with faith.
