During a fierce thunderstorm, a bolt of lightning tore through the church. The terrified congregation huddled together, seeking solace by the crucifix. Miraculously, the lightning left them unharmed. This event led to the church being renamed Santuario del Santo Crocifisso, a testament to the perceived divine protection. Today, if you step inside, you can still see the very same crucifix, a silent reminder of that stormy day in 1813 and the enduring power of faith.
