Kaiserbahnhof whispers stories of imperial journeys and bygone eras. The Kaiserbahnhof, originally known as the “Hofstation im Wildpark,” served as a private royal train station. It was a gateway to the opulent world of the Prussian monarchy.

Kaiser Wilhelm II commissioned the station in 1905. The renowned architect Ernst von Ihne designed the building. Its sandstone facade, with its distinctive “cottage” style and black slate mansard roof, exudes an air of refined rustic charm. Completed in 1909, the Kaiserbahnhof became an essential part of the royal court’s infrastructure. It provided convenient access to the palaces and gardens of Potsdam.
