Founded in 1932 Dixie Hills First Baptist Church stands as a testament to faith and community. Under Reverend Howard’s leadership for the next five years the church grew significantly. Forty-seven members joined through baptism and forty-three through Christian experience. Three deacons Sam Marsh A Green and James Harris were ordained. In 1936 the church purchased land and built a small frame building a symbol of their growing congregation.

Over the years Dixie Hills First Baptist Church saw many pastors. Reverend R D Sutton served during a period of significant growth. He oversaw the construction of a second church building. The mortgage on this building was paid in 1953. His son Reverend R B Sutton succeeded him leading the church through further expansion.
