The Stardust Memorial Sculpture, also known as the Fountain of Youth, is the park’s centerpiece. Created by sculptor Robin Buick, it depicts a dancing couple cast in bronze. The sculpture is surrounded by a circular pool. 48 jets pump water into the illuminated fountain. Each jet symbolizes one of the lives lost. Around the memorial stand 48 birch trees, planted in 1993, each a poignant reminder of a life cut short. The park itself spans 26 acres, following the course of the Santry River. It offers a playground, an all-weather football pitch, and a serene garden terrace. The park sits on land once occupied by a 12th-century monastic site.
