Hyundai Senior High School is an autonomous private high school. It gained permission to open on April 29, 1978. The school officially opened its doors in 1985.

Hyundai Senior High School’s history began with the Seoul Hyundai Institute. It was established as an educational foundation on April 29, 1978. Chung Ju-yung became the first chief director. Construction started after obtaining permission in 1984. Choi Su-Il became the third chief director in June 1984. Jang Jung-Ja followed as the fourth chief director in January 1985.

The first entrance ceremony was held on March 4, 1985. Jung Hee-Kyung was the first principal. The school celebrated its first anniversary on May 3, 1985. The first graduation took place on February 12, 1988. An Information Education Center opened at Hyundai Senior High School in October 2003.

Hyundai Senior High School became an autonomous private school in March 2011. The official colors of Hyundai Senior High School are Hookers Green and Royal Blue. Hookers Green is used for the background. Royal Blue is for the school’s symbol. The school’s flower is the Lilac. The tree is the Magnolia kobus.
