“Rebuilding Lives Through Fellowship and the Word” is not just a motto. It is the very essence of Abundant Life Healing Fellowship Church.
Abundant Life Fellowship began its journey in July 1993. Elder Steven Walker started a weekly Bible Study. It was initially a small gathering of just five men. As Elder Walker shared his insights on the Word of God, the fellowship grew. The initial meeting location became too small within weeks.
Elder Walker sought guidance from the Lord for the next steps. After much prayer, God confirmed his intent. He gave Elder Walker the name Abundant Life Healing Fellowship Church. God’s hand was evident on the fellowship. On October 23, 1994, Bishop Jimmie Ellis, III installed Elder Steven Walker as Pastor. This was at Victory Christian Center of Philadelphia. Abundant Life Healing Fellowship Church officially became a church on January 1, 1995.
In November 1996, the ministry moved. It found its current location at 100 North Sixty-Third Street. Abundant Life Healing Fellowship Church is a non-denominational entity. It is culturally diverse. It thrives and grows on God’s anointing.
In June 2010, Bishop Jimmie A. Ellis, III declared his apostolic intent. He wanted to elevate Pastor Walker to the office of Bishop. The Board of Elders and the cover-lings of Kinsmen Fellowship seconded that motion. On Saturday, October 22, they celebrated. God elevated Pastor Walker to a new level of service.
Bishop Walker is committed to 21st Century Evangelism. The mission of Abundant Life Healing Fellowship Church is ever-present. It seeks to provide a place for God and His people. Here, the Word of God is preached and taught. This produces healing for the whole person. Jesus said, “I am come that they might have life and that they might have it more abundantly.”
Under Bishop Walker’s leadership, the church has expanded. It advances the Kingdom of God through various ministries. These ministries focus on humanities, life support, and the arts.
