Maria Cleopha, a woman of significant influence, left her mark on Munzingen. She donated the baptismal font to St. Stephanskirche in 1626, a tangible symbol of the Reinach presence. After a second marriage, Maria Cleopha bequeathed her entire fortune to her nephew, Beat Melchior von Reinach, securing the family’s legacy. Around 1750, under circumstances shrouded in mystery, Schloss Reinach passed into the hands of the von Kageneck family. Their 250-year tenure shaped the estate, leaving an architectural imprint visible even today. Schloss Reinach thrived as a bustling agricultural hub. Then, disaster struck in 1870. In 2007, renowned restaurateurs René and Beatrix Gessler took the reins, ushering in an era of modernization and expansion.
