The Paul-Janes-Stadion has seen it all. World War II left it mostly unscathed. A storm in 1958 ripped the corrugated iron roof away. In the 1970s while the Rheinstadion underwent renovations the Paul-Janes-Stadion stepped up. It became a Bundesliga ground. Floodlights were installed to meet the demands of professional football.

Fortuna Dusseldorf’s clubhouse was built on the grounds in 1967. This adds to the stadium’s unique character. It’s more than just a place to play football. It’s a community hub a testament to the enduring love for the sport in Dusseldorf.
