Founded in 1992, the Renmin University High School Affiliated Football Club, better known as the Beijing San Gao, stands as a testament to the power of combining academics and athletics. The very name, San Gao, translates to “Three Highs,” emphasizing the club’s commitment to high moral character, high cultural accomplishment, and high athletic skill. Imagine young footballers honing their skills on the 180-acre training grounds, located in Beijing’s northwestern suburbs. The Beijing San Gao Football Club isn’t just about football. It’s about shaping well-rounded individuals. The club’s founders, affiliated with Renmin University High School, sought to create a program that nurtured both mind and body. This philosophy has proven remarkably successful. An impressive 90% of San Gao players go on to university, many through negotiated admissions. In the year 2000, an entire team ascended to the prestigious Beijing University of Science and Technology. These talented players formed the core of the university’s football club, carrying their San Gao training with them. The Beijing San Gao Football Club also boasts a history of competitive success. The club has twice participated in the Chinese Football Yi League, a second-tier professional league. In 2000, the team gained valuable experience in the group stage. Then, in 2012, they returned with the ambitious goal of reaching the Jia League within five years. While they finished 8th in the northern region that season, the Beijing San Gao Football Club continued to strive for excellence. The following year, they merged with the Beijing Youth Team, who had also competed in the Yi League, to form the Beijing All-Star Team. The Beijing San Gao Football Club remains a powerful force in youth football development.
