Opened in 1980, St Mark’s RC Church in Shettleston, Glasgow, stands as a testament to the enduring faith of its community. The records show a union between the St Barnabas parish, established in 1950, and St Mark’s parish, dating back to 1906. This merger created a shared history. Both parishes now share a presbytery at 51 Edenwood Street. Interestingly, the original St Mark’s Church building seems to have been replaced. The current structure we see before us was built in 1980 on Muiryfauld Drive. So, while the current building is relatively young, the spirit of St Mark’s community stretches back much further. You can attend mass at St Mark’s. Current times are 9:30 AM on weekdays and 11:00 AM on weekends. Confession is held at 10:15 AM before Friday mass. This vibrant parish continues to serve the people of Shettleston, offering a place of worship and community. St Mark’s RC Church carries the legacy of its past into the present.
