This is the Freiwillige Feuerwehr Curslack’s annual Lantern Parade, a beloved tradition in the heart of this charming village. The Freiwillige Feuerwehr Curslack, established in 1903, is more than just a fire station. It’s a vibrant hub of community activity, woven into the fabric of Curslack life. The dedicated men and women who serve here, 45 Kameraden and 6 Kameradinnen, respond to approximately two hundred alarms annually. While they are equipped to handle a variety of emergencies with their HLF 20, LF 16 KatS, and GW Dekon-P vehicles, along with a rescue boat, a surprising 80% of their calls are for emergency medical services. Beyond their crucial role in keeping Curslack safe, the Freiwillige Feuerwehr Curslack embraces community engagement. The Lantern Parade in October, winding its magical way through Curslack and Neuengamme, is a highlight of their calendar. Later in the year, the festive Feuerwehrball in December provides a lively close to the year’s official events. This dedicated team is always ready to welcome new members. Men and women between 18 and 40, eager to serve their community, will find a dynamic and supportive group at the Freiwillige Feuerwehr Curslack. The station fosters a blend of tradition and innovation, creating a strong sense of camaraderie.
