Journey back to 1183. A whisper echoes through the dense forests, “Tudendorph”. This, my friends, is the first documented mention of Tuttendorf. The name, meaning “Dudo’s Village,” connects us to a time long before paved roads and bustling cities. Here in Tuttendorf, the discovery of silver ore near Freiberg set in motion a chain of events that would shape this village for centuries. Tuttendorf, nestled on the left bank of the Freiberger Mulde, became inextricably linked to the silver mines. The village evolved into a Waldhufendorf, a type of settlement characterized by elongated farmsteads stretching back from the river. Even before becoming part of Halsbrücke in 1994, Tuttendorf’s story took a turn in 1950 when it merged with the neighboring village of Conradsdorf. Though now part of a larger community, Tuttendorf retains its unique charm and historical significance.
