The \u0414\u0436\u0435\u043d\u0442\u043b\u044c\u043c\u0435\u043d Sculpture is a tribute to the celebrated Russian actor Yevgeny Leonov. It immortalizes him in his role as an assistant professor from the Soviet comedy “Gentlemen of Fortune”. Unveiled in 2001 on Moscow’s “Walk of Movie Stars,” the bronze statue quickly became a beloved landmark.
The sculptor, Yevgenia Chernyshyova, captured Leonov’s character with remarkable detail. The statue even includes the distinct prison tattoos Leonov sported for the role. Positioned opposite the Mosfilm movie studio, the \u0414\u0436\u0435\u043d\u0442\u043b\u044c\u043c\u0435\u043d Sculpture wasn’t mounted on a pedestal. It was placed at ground level. Chernyshyova emphasized the value of the materials. Just the bronze would cost around half a million rubles. Despite the setback, there was a silver lining.
