In 1885, Reverend Joseph Dabrowski founded the Polish Seminary on this very site. Imagine a young priest with a vision. He wanted to create a center for Polish education and culture in America. That vision became a reality here.

It further states that he founded the Polish Seminary on this site. Grateful alumni dedicated it on August 21, 1951. The City of Detroit’s Department of Parks and Recreation also contributed.

This plaque serves as a reminder of the park’s rich past. It connects the present to the dreams of the past.
