Have you ever heard of a place that was once its own parish, but is now part of a larger community? Today, we stand before the Burgães. Located to the northeast of the city of Santo Tirso, this small town was, back in 2011, a bustling center for the community. Its population reached 2,115, but the times have changed. The Burgães, along with the surrounding towns of Santo Tirso, Couto (Santa Cristina), and Couto (São Miguel), was integrated into one large parish on September 29, 2013. The Burgães, though now a part of a larger entity, is a testament to the history and life of the region. It is a reminder of the past and a beacon for the future of this vibrant community.
