What if I told you that right here, at the Teaching of the Inner Christ Church, the concept of “Christ” takes on a whole new meaning? The Teaching of the Inner Christ Church, often referred to as T.I.C., isn’t your typical church. It’s a non-denominational spiritual center. It encourages individuals to connect with their own inner divinity, their “Christ Self.” This unique teaching originated over forty years ago right here in San Diego. It was founded in 1966 by Rev. Ann Meyer Makeever and Rev. Peter V. Meyer.
The story of T.I.C.’s founding is quite remarkable. In 1962, Ann Makeever, a singer and mother of four, claimed to have been contacted by the Yogi Master Babaji. Babaji appeared to her physically and imparted a “Jesus Teaching for the New Age.” This teaching emphasizes that everyone has a Christ within. Jesus simply served as the earthly example. The Teaching of the Inner Christ Church aims to guide individuals to connect with their own inner Christ. This is done through a specific curriculum developed through channeling and meditation.
As the Teaching of the Inner Christ spread, it established branches in other cities. Students reported powerful spiritual experiences and life changes through this practice. In 1977, Ann Makeever established the current organization, still called Teaching of the Inner Christ, Inc. It has branches in Long Beach and Las Vegas, and smaller groups in other cities. The Teaching of the Inner Christ Church offers various courses and programs. It provides a path for those seeking a deeper connection with their spirituality. This teaching is open to people of all faiths and backgrounds. The Teaching of the Inner Christ Church welcomes all who seek self-awareness and a more fulfilling life.
