Graceville nestled between the Brisbane River and Oxley Creek. It blossomed thanks to the railway line opening in 1876. The station itself a pivotal point named in honour of Grace Grimes daughter of Samuel Grimes a local politician. Graceville’s growth wasn’t just about trains. It was about community.

A Baptist chapel opened in 1864 a testament to the early settlers’ faith. It was a place where families put down roots. A place of community activities sporting clubs schools even a bustling shopping centre.

The 1920s saw an influx of development. The Memorial Park Estate offered land with a promise of fresh air and charming views. Other estates like Graceville Park Estate and Greenfield Estate attracted buyers. Homes sprung up many in the classic Queenslander style.

It serves as a place of remembrance for those who served and a testament to community spirit. A place for families to gather children to play and the local croquet club to enjoy some friendly competition.
