Twenty-five years. That’s how long residents of River Valley Colony and the slums of Panchsheel Nagar waited for a bridge. A bridge to connect them, to ease their daily struggles. The Dahisar River Bridge. This isn’t just a bridge, you see. It’s a lifeline. For decades, people here faced a frustrating dilemma. To go to Dahisar or Borivali station, they had to take a long detour. Imagine having to travel extra kilometers just to reach the nearest station. Then, in 2023, construction began on a new Dahisar River Bridge, connecting River Valley Road to Rangnath Keskar Road. A symbol of hope, finally taking shape. This 50-meter-long, 18-meter-wide bridge, costing nearly 27 crore rupees, promises a brighter future. Easier access to hospitals, schools, and markets awaits. The Dahisar River Bridge stands as a testament to the perseverance of the people. A reminder that even in a bustling metropolis, community voices can pave the way for progress.
