Originally located in Englewood, Saint Mark Coptic Orthodox Church served around 50 families in its early years. The late Father Bishoy Kamel, a prominent figure in the modern Coptic era, played a vital role in the church’s founding. He contributed to the establishment of several Coptic Orthodox churches across the globe. The church thrived in Englewood for decades. In 1989, Pope Shenouda III himself consecrated the building during his second visit. This visit coincided with a remarkable journey where the Pope visited every Coptic parish in the US and Canada. The church continued to grow, serving the spiritual needs of the expanding Coptic community. In 2020, Saint Mark Coptic Orthodox Church embarked on a new chapter, moving to its current, newly-constructed building in Centennial. Today, this church continues to flourish, serving over 100 Coptic families. It stands as the sole Coptic Orthodox Church in Colorado.
