In 1946, the first library in Paradise Hills resided in a single room. It was located at Paradise Hills Elementary School. The community wanted something bigger. The Paradise Hills Community Council launched a fundraising campaign. They needed a separate building. Palmer Connor, a community member, donated land on Reo Drive. The City contributed matching funds. This was under a Public Works program. The current Paradise Hills Branch San Diego Public Library building opened in 1964.
Initially, the Paradise Hills Branch San Diego Public Library was small. At 3875 square feet, it became one of San Diego’s smallest libraries. But size isn’t everything. An outdoor patio provides extra space. Programs and performances happen here. Patrons also enjoy this area.
The Paradise Hills Branch San Diego Public Library offers many resources. There are nine public computers. Special collections are available. The library also has language collections. This benefits the diverse community it serves.
Getting here is easy. There are 14 parking spaces. Public transportation is convenient. The MTS Trolley’s UC San Diego Blue Line and Orange Line stop nearby. MTS Bus Routes 962 and 961 also serve this location.
