Seven souls. A pond house. That’s where Connection Church began in 2008. A humble start for a church that would grow beyond anyone’s wildest dreams. Right here before you stands a testament to faith perseverance and community.
Connection Church isn’t just a building. It’s a story of transformation. From that small pond house the congregation moved to a repurposed pawn shop. They affectionately called it the Blue Building. Three services were held in that cramped space. Hundreds made decisions for Christ there. It was a time of incredible growth. They then moved to Statesboro High School. This presented unique challenges. Yet the church continued to thrive.
The One and One Project a fundraising initiative followed. It aimed to raise enough money for a new building. The project exceeded expectations. Not only did they raise the necessary funds but they also collected an additional $1.5 million dollars for missions and outreach. This dedication highlights the church’s commitment to serving the community.
In 2014 Connection Church moved into its current building. The growth didn’t stop. New campuses blossomed in Vidalia Millen Dublin and Savannah Georgia. This expansion created a network of churches. Each campus eventually became an independent entity. The Connection Network was formed. Its ambitious goal is to plant fifty churches by 2050. Connection Church Athens launched in 2021 adding to this expanding family of faith.
Connection Church isn’t just about buildings or expansion. It’s about connecting people to God and each other. It’s about equipping believers and sending them out into the world to make a difference. The church’s core beliefs are rooted in the Bible. It emphasizes community service and outreach. Initiatives like the Hope Clinic partnership Kids Hope USA mentoring and the #loveserves team demonstrate a deep commitment to serving others.
