Hidden within the vibrant tapestry of Flensburg’s university campus lies the Audimax. It’s a modern marvel shared by Europa-Universität Flensburg and the Flensburg University of Applied Sciences. Completed in 2002, the Audimax is part of a larger complex that includes the student cafeteria. Its white concrete exterior forms a stark contrast to the visible steel and glass construction of the adjacent Mensa. Inside, the auditoria radiate a bright white, their presence felt even in the foyer. The large overhanging roofs of the complex offer a welcoming space for students to gather and connect. These roofs cleverly link the Audimax and Mensa with the surrounding landscape. This connection creates a unique atmosphere that blurs the lines between the built environment and the natural world. The Audimax building also houses the VentureWærft, a center for startups, and CampusCareer, the university’s career support center.
