Have you ever felt the crisp air of a hidden forest clearing? Welcome to Kollund Skov Teltplads. This primitive campsite nestled deep within Kollund Skov offers a unique experience. It’s a place for adventurers seeking solace in nature. You can pitch your tent for up to two nights.

Kollund Skov Teltplads is located near the Gendarmstien trail. It’s only 200 meters from the Flensburg Fjord. Imagine the sound of waves lapping gently against the shore while you sleep under the stars. The campsite is truly secluded. Motor vehicles are not allowed. You’ll need to carry your gear.

Kollund Skov itself boasts a rich history. Once threatened by deforestation the forest was saved. In 1883 the city of Flensburg purchased Kollund Skov. This was thanks to Dr. Großheim’s initiative. After World War II the city maintained ownership of 75 hectares. The rest was owned by the Danish state and private individuals. However due to financial difficulties Flensburg sold its portion in 2006. The Danish Nature Foundation eventually acquired the entire 130-hectare forest in 2017. They paid 16.75 million Danish kroner.

Kollund Skov is now a protected natural paradise. The Danish Nature Foundation ensures that the forest flourishes. It’s home to rare species like the fire salamander. You might even spot the rare black woodpecker. These magnificent birds make their homes in the ancient beech trees. The forest flourishes with biodiversity. It’s a testament to the power of conservation.

The Gendarmstien trail runs through Kollund Skov. This trail was used by border patrols during both World Wars. The trail offers breathtaking views of the Flensburg Fjord. Imagine hiking along the Gendarmstien trail. You’ll be walking in the footsteps of history.

The campsite is free to use. You can gather firewood from the forest floor. Remember to leave no trace. Respect this pristine environment. Enjoy the tranquility of Kollund Skov Teltplads. Let the sounds of nature lull you to sleep under the starlit sky. It is a truly unforgettable experience.
