Craving a bit of Oxford’s sporting history? Then let me tell you the story of Court Place Farm. It is the home of Oxford City Football Club. The club address is Court Place Farm, Marsh Lane, Oxford, OX3 0NQ.

Court Place Farm opened in 1993. It provides a venue for football enthusiasts. It’s more than just a stadium. It’s a testament to the enduring spirit of non-league football. The stadium is quite open. Its facilities are basic, yet charming.

The Main Stand is on one side of the pitch. It’s a covered, all-seated stand. It runs for about half the pitch length. A covered terrace sits opposite the Main Stand. It’s roughly the same size. Oddly, the dugouts are in front of the terrace. Usually, they are in front of the Main Stand.

A new seated stand appeared in 2016-2017. It’s at the north-west end. There is also a flat standing area at the Marsh Lane end. Another covered terrace sits at the other end of the ground. In 2018, a new artificial 3G pitch was installed.

Oxford City Football Club has a long history. The club was founded in 1882. Its first match was in 1884. For a decade, games were irregular. The club was later reorganized in 1897. It became Oxford’s leading club.

One of Oxford City’s lowest moments occurred in 1988. Brasenose College evicted the club from its White House Ground. The club reformed later. In 1993, it began playing at Marsh Lane.

Today, Court Place Farm is officially the RAW Charging Stadium. This is due to a sponsorship agreement. RAW Charging specializes in electric vehicle charging.

Getting to Court Place Farm is relatively straightforward. If you are driving from the north, leave the M40 at Junction 9. Take the A34 towards Oxford. From the south, leave the M40 at Junction 8. Parking is available at the MGroup Stadium for a fee on match days. However, spaces are limited. Street parking may be available nearby. Cyclists can use the 18 bike racks available.

If you are coming to a match, why not grab a pre-game pint? Consider The Bear Inn. You could also try J’s Sports Bar. O’Neill’s is another choice.
