It is said that this place is a haven for those seeking solace and guidance. The Sainath Mandir in Mumbai is a testament to the unwavering faith of its devotees. This small temple, built in 1919, holds a significant place in the hearts of many. At first, it was located in a modest house, but in 1942 it was moved to its current location on Forjett Street. Though it occupies a small space, just fourteen feet by ten feet, the Sainath Mandir is a beacon of devotion. Blessed by Shri Madiye Maharaj, the temple became a prominent place for seeking Sai Baba’s blessings.

This temple is a reminder that devotion can blossom even in the smallest of spaces. It is a place where the rich and the poor come together to find wisdom and tranquility. The temple is known for its beautiful statue of Sai Baba, made from plaster and standing about four feet tall. It is said that the statue looks like Sai Baba is riding an elephant, his presence commanding respect and admiration. If you look closely you might also notice a small statue of Shri Sai Baba and another statue of Yogiraj Dattadas Madiye Maharaj, who was instrumental in building this temple. Madiye Maharaj, who was a contemporary of Sai Baba, was known for his strong spiritual presence and played a profound role in developing this temple. He spent many years in Shirdi, learning from Sai Baba and performing his penance there. It was after his time in Shirdi that he relocated to Mumbai.

Today, the Sainath Mandir is a place of great spiritual significance. It is a place where people gather not only to worship Sai Baba, but also to find a sense of community and connection. Many prominent figures have visited the Sainath Mandir to pay their respects to Sai Baba, including Shri Muktananda Swami from Ganeshpuri and Sati Godavarimataji from Sakuri. This temple is a testament to the enduring power of faith and the profound impact that Shri Sai Baba had on the lives of people, and how his legacy continues to inspire people today.
