Church service times and schedules can vary. Please call the Elkhorn Meetinghouse for specific times. All church meetings follow the same two-hour format. There is one main meeting for everyone. Then, there is another class separated by age groups or general interests.
Many members come to the Elkhorn Meetinghouse by themselves each week. If you would like someone to attend with you for the first time, you can sign up to have local missionaries accompany you. There is no requirement to participate. On your first Sunday, you can sit back and enjoy the service. If you want to participate by taking the sacrament or responding to questions, you are welcome to. Do whatever feels comfortable to you.
You can always count on one main meeting. In this meeting, we take the sacrament to remember the Savior. This is followed by classes separated by age groups or general interests.
Please wear whatever attire you feel comfortable wearing. In general, attendees wear “Sunday best.” This could include button-down shirts, ties, slacks, skirts, and dresses.

The main meeting at the Elkhorn Meetinghouse is called sacrament meeting. This meeting consists of songs, prayers, and sermons given by different members of the congregation. Members also take the sacrament. In addition to sacrament meeting, there are a variety of other classes for both children and adults. There’s something for everyone from 18 months old and up. Each group meets for a lesson and discussion. These are based on a different section of scripture each week.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Nevada has a rich history. In 1855, 30 men were called to establish a mission in southern Nevada. Gordon B. Hinckley dedicated the Las Vegas Nevada Temple in December 1989. More than 30,000 Latter-day Saints attended the dedicatory services.
Today, the Elkhorn Meetinghouse continues to be a beacon of faith. It is a place where people can come together to worship, learn, and support one another.
