Across the Wietze River lies Wietzepark a haven of green. It’s a landscape park spanning 56 hectares. Imagine a place born from collaboration. Langenhagen and Isernhagen joined forces. They transformed former farmland into a recreational paradise.

The Wietzepark’s story began in the early 1990s. Langenhagen purchased 30 hectares of land. They held a design competition in 1999. The winning design was brought to life by Christine Früch’s office. Construction on Langenhagen’s section started in 2000. It was largely complete by 2006.

Isernhagen joined the project in 2001. They added about 30 hectares on the eastern side of the river. Their section opened officially in 2005. Two bridges were built in 2004 and 2005. These bridges unite the park and symbolize cooperation. The Region Hannover financially supported both sides.

Wietzepark isn’t just a pretty place. It’s a place for recreation and leisure. People hike cycle and play sports. There’s beach volleyball football and even fishing under certain conditions. A high ropes course Piraterock adds an adventurous element. Children climb and enjoy pirate-themed activities.

Wietzepark showcases a remarkable partnership. It demonstrates how cooperation and vision can transform ordinary spaces into extraordinary ones. This park is more than just a place to visit. It is a testament to the power of shared goals. It’s a success story that unites communities across a river. This park offers something for everyone. It’s a place where nature and recreation harmoniously coexist.
