Leaves of stainless steel and aluminum. They shimmer in the sunlight. This is Healing Nature. Created by Tim Glover in 2003 it stands tall. A beautiful column outside and a tranquil canopy inside.
Glover’s artwork is more than just metal. It’s a statement. It’s about nature’s healing power. The delicate leaves create an atmosphere of peace. This is a place of goodwill and rejuvenation. The canopy inside is a marvel. Seventy-six leaves individually welded. Each one a testament to Glover’s skill.
Glover’s connection to Houston is deep. He moved here in 1986. This isn’t his first public art piece in the city. His Cactus sculpture in Old Sixth Ward Park came first. He’s also a gifted teacher. He’s taught welding and sculpture. He even won a Presidential Scholars Teacher Recognition Award.
At night the Healing Nature column lights up. It’s a beacon for the University of Houston campus. Blumenthal Sheet Metal Houston helped create this amazing piece. This isn’t just a sculpture. It’s a symbol of community. A reminder of nature’s beauty. A testament to the power of art. And it’s right here for all of us to enjoy. So take a moment. Breathe it in. Let Healing Nature soothe your soul.
