Who was Said Abulhasan, and why is a mosque in Bukhara named after him? Let’s unravel the captivating story of the Said po Bandi Kusho jom’e masjidi. This mosque, nestled on Khorezm Street in Bukhara, isn’t just a place of worship. It’s a testament to a man of wisdom and miracles. The Said po Bandi Kusho jom’e masjidi honors Hazrat Said Abulhasan, a scholar and sheikh of truth. His lineage traces back to Imam Hasan. Said Abulhasan followed the teachings of Hazrat Ja’far Khildi, a murid of Hazrat Junaid Baghdadi. He also mentored the renowned Abu Bakr Ishaq Gulabadi. False accusations led to Said Abulhasan’s imprisonment. Yet, during each prayer, his shackles would miraculously unlock, only to re-engage afterward. This divine intervention reached the ears of the Bukhara king. Humbled, the king rushed to the dungeon to apologize and release Said Abulhasan. But the sheikh, accepting his fate, refused, stating, “I have accepted God’s fate. This is a test of God.” Initially laid to rest near Samarkand’s gate, twenty years later, Said Abulhasan’s remains were moved to Degrezi Guzar in Bukhara. This relocation followed a dream instructing a murid to rebury him within the city walls. This act of reverence proved providential. The original burial site near Samarkand’s gate was later destroyed, but Said Abulhasan’s tomb in Bukhara remained safe. The Said po Bandi Kusho jom’e masjidi stands beside this sacred tomb, a beacon of faith and remembrance. The mosque has been beautifully restored, a testament to the enduring legacy of Said Abulhasan, the man whose shackles couldn’t contain his spirit.
