Born in Eora in 1864, Panteleimon Kriezis’s life was a testament to faith and leadership. Kriezis was born in 1864. He studied Theology at the Theological School of Athens. He furthered his studies in Germany, driven by a thirst for broader knowledge. In 1895, he returned to Greece and began his priestly service in the Holy Church of Saint Irene in Athens. His capabilities didn’t go unnoticed. By October 15, 1906, Panteleimon Kriezis was ordained Bishop of Chalkidiki and Karystos. He served his community with unwavering dedication until his untimely death on April 4, 1907. Here, at this monument, we honor Panteleimon Kriezis. The Panteleimon Kriezis Monument stands as a tribute to his short but impactful service. The inscription reads: ΠΑΝΤΕΛΕΗΜΩΝ ΚΡΙΕΖΗΣ ΕΠΙΣΚ. ΧΑΛΚ. ΚΑΡΥΣΤ. 1906-1907. It signifies his dedication to Chalkidiki and Karystos, a commitment cut short by fate. His legacy resonates within the community he served, a beacon of faith and devotion.
