“Premier Golf and Country Club.” That’s the Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club or KLGCC. It stands as a beacon of golfing excellence. Established in 1991, KLGCC offers a world-class experience. It is located in Mont Kiara just 8 kilometers from Kuala Lumpur’s heart.

Across 220000 square feet lies a lush green landscape. KLGCC redefines standards among golf and country clubs. Sime Darby Property Berhad designed it. It is meant to be an elegant and relaxing golf sanctuary. It boasts top-notch facilities and warm hospitality. KLGCC is more than just a golf course. There is always something to entertain the whole family. Unforgettable moments await.

KLGCC is renowned worldwide. It hosted the PGA TOUR European Tour and the LPGA. It did so all within a year for three consecutive years between 2013 and 2015. In 2016, the Club made history again. It hosted the CIMB Classic PGA TOUR and Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia. Both achievements were unprecedented in golf history.

KLGCC’s East Course tops Golf Digest International 2020 Best Golf Courses in Malaysia. The West Course was declared Malaysia’s Best Golf Course by World Golf Awards 2019. It is ranked 20th in the Top 100 Golf Courses in Asia. The Club is also ranked 82nd in the Top 100 Platinum Golf and Country Clubs of the World 2020 – 2021. KLGCC rivals the best golfing destinations in the world.

The Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club boasts two 18-hole championship golf courses. These are the Par 71 East and Par 72 West Courses. Both have undergone total redesigns. The revamped West Course reopened in 2009. The East Course reopened in 2010. TPC Kuala Lumpur’s West Course completed another upgrade in August 2018. By the end of 2018, seven Malaysian Opens and five CIMB Classic tournaments occurred on TPC Kuala Lumpur’s West Course.

The beautiful fairways of Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club lie in Bukit Kiara’s unspoiled landscape. It is strategically placed among the capital’s prime residential suburbs. Major roads serve it well. It is the most conducive backdrop for business entertainment and leisure. This is for the discerning few who are members of this exclusive gold & country club. KLGCC is designed as a relaxed private golf and country club. It is surrounded by nature preserves. It is home to unique species of flora and fauna. It is a quiet thoughtfully planned environment of relaxed elegance and natural beauty.

The country club’s 36-hole courses greet over 100000 golfing rounds a year. They host numerous international championships. Robin Nelson and Rodney Wright originally designed the courses. The 36 holes layout was configured as the East & West courses. KLGCC offers a unique golfing experience.

The West course had a major upgrade project completed in the late 2000s. It challenges the likes of Saujana Kota Permai and The Mines for top honors among Malaysia’s golf course elite. The front-nine on the West takes you on an expansive journey. It climbs up the left side of the layout. Several scenic holes with panoramic views are played at the course’s highest elevations. These are alongside the jungle-clad hills of Bukit Kiara.

At the par-3 8th and the tight and water-protected par-4 9th you descend again to the clubhouse. The slightly more open back-nine frequently brings water hazards into play. It confronts you with an often spectacular array of bunkering alongside the contoured fairways.

At just over 6000 meters the East course is shorter and easier-going than KLGCC’s more challenging West course. The East course also has a pleasantly undulating parkland character. It offers several nicely elevated tee-boxes. The lightly tree-lined contoured fairways provide good definition to each hole.

Straight-hitting from the tee is at a premium on the opening holes of the back-nine. Good bunkering ensures that KLGCC’s No.2 course continually tests your overall game. A tough closing stretch is on the more interesting and challenging back-nine loop. At both the par-4 9th and 18th holes a small lake menacingly guards your approach shots.

Though not as scenic as the West course the East still provides a very pleasant golf outing. It gives the opportunity to card a respectably good score even on a first outing. So, whether you’re a seasoned pro or a casual golfer, Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club is an experience you won’t want to miss.
