The Biserica Sfânta Vineri Colentina’s origins trace back to a humble beginning. The parish started with locals gathering for worship. They met in a chapel within the house of a believer named Gheorghe Tanase.
In 1947 the community built the current Biserica Sfânta Vineri Colentina. This was made possible by donations from parishioners. The local municipality donated the land. This is recorded in the inscription above the entrance door. Initially the parish was known as “Andronache II”. This reflects the area’s history.
