The Ayim Complex is a hub of knowledge and innovation at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). The Ayim Complex houses the Department of Physics. KNUST has a rich history, evolving from the Kumasi College of Technology established in 1951. The university transitioned to a collegiate system in 2005. Now it comprises six colleges. The Department of Physics aims to be a leading research center, contributing to scientific advancements in Ghana, Africa, and globally. Within the Ayim Complex, the Department of Physics participates in the InterMaths Network. This program offers interdisciplinary Masters and Doctoral programs in Mathematical and Computational Physics (MCP). This program equips students to tackle real-world problems through cutting-edge research and international collaborations. The program offers five specialized paths: Condensed Matter Physics, Smart Renewable Energy, Hydrogeological Modelling, Space Physics Modelling, and Medical/Biomedical Physics Modelling. The Ayim Complex at KNUST represents the university’s commitment to advanced research and scientific development.
