“Look closely,” I say gesturing to the ancient stones of the u4e0au884cu9662. It is a Buddhist temple in Osaka. It may appear simple but its history is deeply rooted in the region’s spiritual landscape.

I will share the story of Ojoin Rokumanji Temple. Since the Heian period it has flourished. It is known as a temple with strong Pure Land beliefs. The Nissokan ritual was practiced here. This involves praying for a life in paradise while watching the sunset.

According to the Shui Ojoden written in the late Heian period Rokumanji Temple fell into disrepair. Lord Yoshimatsu Kawase the founder initiated this at the direction of Yasuke Shonin. Yasuke Shonin was a nembutsu priest. He visited with a confessional dream. A hall built on the land became the founding of Ojo-in.

Yasuke Shonin practiced the Go-nen-mon gate every day. He looked at the setting sun. He would say these words. “The east gate of Totennoji Temple is the center of the east gate of Jokaku Raku.” Since then u4e0au884cu9662 has prospered. It attracted people who wished to attain paradise.

u4e0au884cu9662 also has a deep connection with Masayuki Kusunoki. He was the eldest son of Masashige Kusunoki. Masashige Kusunoki was active on the Southern Court side during the Nanbokucho period. The tombstone is still enshrined as a graveyard to this day.

Today u4e0au884cu9662 stands as a testament to enduring faith. It also reminds us of the area’s complex history. The temple is open daily. Gates open from 6:00 to 16:45 with entrance until 16:30.

Take a moment to reflect on the passage of time. Consider the generations of worshippers who have sought solace within these walls of u4e0au884cu9662. It is more than just a temple. It is a living legacy of faith hope and remembrance.
