Sangkat Kakab 1 is part of Khan Pou Senchey. Khan Pou Senchey is an administrative district within Phnom Penh. It has a population of over 226000. That was in 2019.

Khan Pou Senchey was created in 2011. It was formed from 13 Sangkats taken from Khan Dangkao. Sangkat Kakab was one of them.

In 2016, Kakab was divided. This split created Kakab 1 and Kakab 2. Now, we are in Kakab 1.

Sangkat Kakab 1 has its own unique identity. It includes villages such as Kbal Damrei 1. You can also find Chamkar Ovloek 1 here. Ta Nguon 1 and Ta Nguon 2 are part of it too. There is also Paprak Khang Tbong. Trapeang Lvea 1 and Trapeang Lvea 2 are within its boundaries. Paprak Khang Cheung completes the area.

Khan Pou Senchey once included 13 Sangkats. Over time, some were moved. In 2013 Kouk Roka and Ponsang became part of Khan Prek Pnov. Krang Thnong was moved to Khan Sen Sok. In 2019, six Sangkats moved to Khan Kamboul.

As of 2020, Khan Pou Senchey is divided into seven Sangkats. These Sangkats contain 75 villages.

Sangkat Kakab 1 has the postcode 120912. This helps with mail and deliveries. It ensures everything arrives where it needs to go.
