Didn’t it start with a simple groundbreaking ceremony? In 1957, the foundation for the Schule Stockflethweg was laid. This primary school in Hamburg’s Langenhorn district has a rich history. The school’s address is Stockflethweg 160.

The first construction phase was completed in 1959. It included pavilion buildings and a cross-shaped structure. The Schule Stockflethweg expanded in 1960 with an administration building. A gymnasium followed in 1962. The aula was added in 1965. These buildings are typical examples of serial school construction from the Seitz era. They feature concrete frames, red brick infills, and flat roofs. The buildings are scattered across the grounds. Some are connected by walkways.

The pavilions were rebuilt in 1988. From 2013 to 2014, a cafeteria was built for all-day care. It can accommodate 120 students. Today, the Schule Stockflethweg has about 365 students. The school employs 30 staff members. The school is usually three to four classes per grade. There are also two pre-school classes.

The Schule Stockflethweg offers a variety of programs. It has an artistic and musical profile. JEKI is one example. There are elective courses in grades 3 and 4. These include choir, theater, and music workshop. Other options are backdrop design, radio play, and English with fun. There is also sewing with needles. Other activities include a children’s variety show and holiday singing. The Schule Stockflethweg is an LMS pilot school. Since 2019, it has been part of the “Digital macht Schule” network. The school has a makerspace. It is applying to become a fully digitalized school.
