Back then, after the devastation of the Vietnam War, the church was no more than a humble, simple structure. In 1977, Father Giuse replaced Father Vincent Linh, who had served in An Viện. That year, the parishioners rebuilt their church with new materials and a renewed hope. Then in 1983, the church became a GHBL (Giao Họ Buon Lành) and was named the Long Đước I parish. The church began to grow into a beacon of faith, with a new chapel erected in 2009. Through these challenges and triumphs, the Nhà thờ Giáo xứ Long Đước stood strong.
