Imagine the excitement in 1932 when the Antiga Estação Ferroviária de Codeçoso first opened its doors. The station, also known as Codeçôso or Codessoso, provided a vital link for the community of Codeçoso in the municipality of Celorico de Basto. For over half a century, it served as a bustling hub, connecting people and goods to the wider world. Passengers would have scurried along its platform, their voices mingling with the announcements and the rumble of arriving and departing trains. Sadly, the last train pulled out of the Antiga Estação Ferroviária de Codeçoso in January 1990, silencing the once vibrant station. But while the tracks fell silent, the spirit of the station lived on. In 2022, the Antiga Estação Ferroviária de Codeçoso was reborn. It was renovated and transformed into a welcoming space for tourists and locals alike. Today, it stands as a testament to the enduring legacy of the Linha do Tâmega railway and the memories it holds.
