Notice the robust appearance. Massive stonework defines Villa Noelle. Look at the meticulous details. From the rough surfaces to the finely carved ornaments, everything is perfect. The stone came from Oberdorla near Mühlhausen in Thuringia.

Each side of Villa Noelle is equally impressive. Gables, bay windows, and distinctive windows characterize the facades. The windows have strong mullions and subdivisions. This adds to the villa’s unique character.

Ernst Noelle moved in with his wife and five children in 1901. He was a generous man. Noelle donated the stained-glass windows for the Grunewald Church. He also provided a Christmas tree every year.

The property originally extended to Hasensprung. In 1937, it was divided. New houses were built. Villa Noelle retained the western part of the original plot.

Ernst Noelle died in 1916. His eldest son later founded the Tobis film company. His granddaughter is Elisabeth Noelle-Neumann. She became a famous pollster.

In 1936, the interior was significantly altered. It was divided into small apartments. Before that, in 1924, there were initial changes inside Villa Noelle.

Later, in October 1972, Uwe Schulz-Ebschbach bought the house. He was a master painter. He carefully renovated Villa Noelle. Schulz-Ebschbach also meticulously documented its history. His firm is known for artistic restorations.

Elisabeth Noelle-Neumann was born here in Berlin in 1916. She studied in Berlin, Königsberg, and the USA. She became a pioneer in opinion research.
