Lodi High School in New Jersey stands tall. It’s a four-year public high school. It serves students in grades nine through twelve. Lodi High School is more than just a school. It’s a hub of history and community.
For years Lodi High School wasn’t just for Lodi residents. East Paterson students attended until 1953. Then they went to East Rutherford High School. This was because of overcrowding at Lodi High School. Little Ferry students also attended until 1953-54. They were then sent to Ridgefield Park High School. Saddle Brook students attended until a new high school opened there in 1958. Even students from Wallington New Jersey attended Lodi High School. The current Lodi High School building opened in 1973-74. The old building became Thomas Jefferson Middle School.
Lodi High School has had its share of success. It’s been ranked highly by New Jersey Monthly magazine. The school’s athletic teams also have a winning tradition. The 1939 boys’ basketball team won a state championship. The football team won sectional championships in 1992 1998 and 2005. The baseball team won a sectional title in 2003. The school even boasts notable alumni. These include musicians from the band The Misfits and athletes who played in professional sports.
