WRHQ-FM broadcasts at 105.3 MHz. It serves the Savannah metropolitan area. The station’s studios are south of Daffin Park in Midtown Savannah. The transmitter is southwest of historic downtown.
Since May 13 1991 WRHQ has delivered its unique sound. Initially broadcasting at 3000 watts the station increased its power to 11000 watts in the late 1990s. For over a quarter century WRHQ has played adult album alternative and Rock AC hybrid music.
WRHQ calls its format Quality Rock. This includes a blend of classic rock alternative rock adult contemporary classic hits and other genres.
For many years WRHQ was owned by Savannah radio veteran Jerry Rogers. In 2023 ownership changed. O.C. Welch III owner of a local car dealership bought WRHQ for $1.7 million. Larry Silbermann is the General Manager. Tripp Rogers is the Operations Manager and Program Director.
The on-air staff keeps Savannah entertained. Brady McGraw is on from 5:30 AM to 10 AM. Lyndy Brannen follows from 10 AM to 3 PM. Tripp Rogers takes over from 3 PM to 7 PM. Weekends feature Barri Marshall Marguerite Springfield Chris Sinclair and Sandy Anthony.
