“Did you know that Wat Bodhi-Dhamm in Frankfurt is more than just a temple?” It is a vibrant hub of culture and community. Wat Bodhi-Dhamm is located at Melchiorstrasse 9. This temple serves as a spiritual anchor for the Thai community.

Wat Bodhi-Dhamm’s story includes a day of great merit. Thirty monks from ten temples across Germany journeyed here. This happened on July 28, 2018. They participated in the Morning Alms Round. This event honored the Buddhist Lent.

Monks from different temples came to Wat Bodhi-Dhamm. These included Wat Buddhamongkol and Wat Buddhapiyavararam. Others were Wat Dhammakaya Frankfurt and Wat Phra Dhammakaya Rheinland. Wat Buddha Heilbronn and Siht Thazung Temple also participated. Monks from Wat Puttabenjapon and Wat Luang Phor Sai joined too. And of course Wat Bhodhi–Dhamm and Wat Buddhavipassana were present.

Herr Stephan Siegle, a respected Stadtverordnetenvorsteher, was the Laypeople President. Over 400 Thai and foreign laities participated. The morning alms round is a monastic tradition. The Lord Buddha established it long ago.

The Buddha praised it as excellent. It disseminates Buddhism. Wat Bodhi-Dhamm is a branch of Wat Pho. The new temple opened its doors on May 11, 2553 in the Buddhist Era. This corresponds to 2010 in the Gregorian calendar.

Wat Bodhi-Dhamm offers a place for reflection. It also cultivates a strong sense of community. The temple’s address is Melchiorstr. 9, 65929 Frankfurt am Main. You can contact them at 069 300 66768-9. Their fax number is 069 300 66970. Or email them at info@bodhi-dhamm.de.
