The Muscat Old Cemetery, also known as Sa’Ali Cove or Cove Christian Cemetery, is more than just a graveyard. It’s a poignant reminder of Muscat’s historical ties to the British Commonwealth. Tucked away in a secluded cove, the cemetery is a stark contrast to the bustling city surrounding it. The cemetery holds the weight of history, a silent testament to lives lived and lost. Here, amidst the rugged beauty of the Omani coastline, rests a lone Commonwealth burial from the First World War. Ten other souls, their stories entwined with a bygone era, also find their final resting place here, their graves now under the care of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission.
